COACHING PROFILES
Coach John Doldoorian (15's National Showcase Team): Director South Central Sharks' AAU 1995 to present. Head Coach South Central Sharks 1995 to present. Head Coach Oxford High School Varsity Girls 1987 to 2006, career record 325 wins and 107 losses. Central Mass Division 2 Coach of the Year 6 times. State Champions 1992 and 1993. State Finalists 2001. Central Mass District Champions 1991, 1992, 1993, 2001, 2002 and 2005.
Coach Dean Packard (11's): Coaching experience: Shepherd Hill Regional High School Varsity Boys' coach 1992 - 2004; 7 SWCL West league championships. Recipient of Cervini Hardy Sportmanship Award - twice. Director of Drills and Skills Basketball Clinics, Dudley, MA (over 3500 children have attended these clinics over a 10-year span). Director of Dudley-Charlton Summer Basketball League for the past 15 years. Currently a certified IAABO Basketball official. Presently the Assistant Principal at Charlton Middle School.
Coach Matt Walsh (14's): Coaching Experience: 2000 - 2006 Sacred Heart/St. Josephs Basketball League (Worcester). 2004 - 2006 South Central Sharks' AAU, Coach Walsh was an all-star performer for Holy Name Central Catholic High School from 1978 to 1981 and played collegiate ball at Quinsigamond CC in 1982 and 1983.
Coach Mike McGonigle (14's): Coaching Experience: South Central Sharks AAU 2004 to present; Charlton-Dudley Blue Devils of SMYBL 2003 to 2007; Charlton Youth Basketball Association 1998 to 2005; coach and clinician at New England Area Girls' Five Star Basketball Camp 2007; Board of Directors of Charlton Youth Basketball Association 2001 to 2007; Head Coach Charlton Middle School Girls' Basketball 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 compiling a record of 29 wins and 2 losses.
Coaches Rich and Claire Harrington (12's): Rich and Claire have been with the Sharks for the last two years. Currently Rich is an assistant with the Oxford Middle School Boys' Team. Rich has previous coaching experience at Bay Path High School, Mt Everett High in Sheffield, MA, and also Simon's Rock of Bard College in 1990. Played basketball at both Becker Junior College and Worcester State. Claire played basketball as Skagit Valley Community College in the state of Washington, and completeed playing her college basketball at Lewis-Clark State in Idaho where she was the MVP on her teams all four years and Athlete of the Year twice, while being nominated for all-American Honors in 1982. After college, she spent a year in New Zealand as a player-coach for one of their National league teams.
Coach Jim Gomes (13's): Jim has been with the Sharks' program since 2002 when he started coaching with them after his daugthers finished their Sharks' and high school careers. Currently he is the Oxford Middle School Girls' Basketball coach, a position he has held for the past 6 years. Prior to that, Jim was the highly successful girls' coach at St. Anne's School of Webster for a number of years. Jim has been involved in coaching for the past 35 years and in 1983 received citations from the Massachusett House of Representatives, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate for "Dedicated Service to the Development of Youth".
